On January 10, 2022, Vietnam Elevator Association (Association) and Elevator Magazine received feedback from customers and from Doza Technology Co., Ltd (Doza), headquartered in Hai Phong, information about an item of elevator equipment being counterfeited. Immediately after receiving the feedback, the Association and the Magazine clarified.
On December 31, 2021, the Department of Occupational Safety, Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs issued Official Letter No. 639/ATLD-PCTTr to the Hanoi People's Committee, responding to Official Letter No. 0112/VNEA dated December 1, 2021 of Vietnam Elevator Association on elevator safety at Den Lu Resettlement Area. In particular, the Vietnam Elevator Association has reflected that many elevators of the Den Lu Resettlement Area do not meet technical requirements, but people are still using them every day, endangering their lives and health.
After more than a month of waiting, on the afternoon of December 31, 2021, Elevator Magazine received a reply from the Hanoi Department of Construction surrounding the repairing damaged and inadequate to operate elevator in resettlement apartment buildings in particular and apartment buildings in general. Supporting industries are identified as having the core role of sustainable industrial development. However, at present, Vietnamese supporting industry enterprises, including those manufacturing elevator components with modest quantity, mainly produce simple details, with low content and added value, difficult to compete with foreign enterprises. In that context, it is necessary to have a comprehensive and legal corridor for supporting industry to develop, worthy of the supply chain of parts and accessories of a developing industry.
People have to bend over to go under the building's water tank to go to the next unit to use elevator every time the elevator fails. Only 4 out of 26 elevators in an apartment complex pass the technical safety inspection, yet the elevators still operate every day. Pulley, wire ropes wear out beyond the allowable limit, the surface of the wire rope appears red rust, the test results are clear, but people have no choice but to accept and wait.
