On the morning of September 10, 2026, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Elevator Association (VNEA), the Member Conference was held with the in-person and online participation of leaders and representatives of member enterprises. The conference reported on activities in the first 8 months of 2026, discussed difficulties and recommendations from members, and outlined orientations for future activities.

Presenting the report, Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien, General Secretary of VNEA, stated that in recent times, the Association has implemented activities in policy consultation, standards development, workforce training, and trade promotion. Technical cooperation programs and specialized communications have continued to expand. Recently, VNEA admitted an additional 14 corporate members.
In policy work, VNEA has contributed opinions to the development of documents related to employment, occupational safety and hygiene, product and goods quality, and technical standards and regulations. The Institute of Applied Elevator Engineering (VILEA) has developed draft base standards, participated in developing national standards, conducted technical assessments of elevators, and engaged in international technical cooperation.

The Association has conducted elevator maintenance technician training courses in Hanoi, with plans to expand the model to Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. Regarding trade promotion, VNEA organized the Vietnam Elevator Expo 2026 in Hanoi along with the seminar "Opening the Art Door into Elevators"; participated in an international elevator exhibition in Guangzhou, China, and strengthened cooperation with other industry associations…
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Hai Duc, Chairman of VNEA, emphasized the need to build a transparent market in which products are declared with accurate origins, service quality is maintained, and enterprises act responsibly. According to him, this is the foundation for businesses to assert their distinctiveness, build trust, and compete on quality.

The VNEA Chairman stated that a commensurate price must stem from the value that an enterprise delivers to users. The Association has been and is stepping up standards development; training and certification of technicians; an elevator identification code system; electronic maintenance logs… each member needs to proactively adopt these to affirm their distinctiveness in product and service quality and to protect their reputation.
During the discussion, representatives of enterprises requested that VNEA increase support for members, develop criteria for identifying capable enterprises, and promote transparency of product origins. Opinions also focused on expanding training courses, issuing certificates suitable for each group of technicians, and applying maintenance management software.
Responding to questions about membership admission procedures, Mr. Pham Dai Nghia, Head of the VNEA Member Development Committee and Chairman of Hanoi Electrical Appliances Joint Stock Company, stated that the review and selection of members must be carried out thoroughly to gather serious, reputable businesses. This is the basis for building a healthy cooperative environment and creating trust for customers.

Based on the contributions, VNEA will study, refine, and consolidate them for inclusion in its programs and activity plans in the coming time.

Regarding training, attending the Conference in person, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dao - Director of Conimec Electromechanical Engineering Joint Stock Company, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu - Director of Moc Sinh Trading Co., Ltd., proposed adjusting content and duration according to learners' qualifications and experience, helping enterprises conveniently arrange personnel to participate.
Responding to the feedback, Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien said the Association will review the program, expand training formats and locations to Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang; certification must be tied to substantive professional quality.

From the issues discussed, VNEA is orienting toward developing standards for evaluating and ranking enterprises, with customer participation in the evaluation. The Conference also discussed developing a certification program and product labels tied to quality and origin.
For maintenance services, the Association aims to build a nationwide network of technicians, develop local workforce, and increase coordination among enterprises, with the support of experts in handling technical issues. This orientation stems from the reality that some units supply elevators in many locations but have not maintained a corresponding maintenance workforce.

VNEA is also promoting the application of centralized management software, elevator identification codes, and electronic maintenance logs. According to the Association Chairman, base standards on maintenance, training programs, and management platforms have been developed; the next task is to put them into widespread use at enterprises, overcoming the situation of fragmented, disconnected implementation.
Ms. Doan Thi Nhai, representative of Phuc Thanh Company, stated that the value of the Association lies in building a community of ethical businesses that support each other and share opportunities. According to her, each member needs to contribute to building common prestige, thereby creating a basis for protecting each other's interests.
Regarding difficulties enterprises face during operations, VNEA requests that member enterprises proactively report them; the Association will receive information, consolidate recommendations, and submit them to competent authorities.
Elevator Magazine continues to objectively reflect industry issues, disseminate professional knowledge, and create a channel for exchange between members and the Association. The establishment of regional chapters also needs to be promoted to increase connectivity and support local enterprises.
