Recently, Hyundai Elevator officially announced its exclusive modular construction system named ENOBLOC (short for Elevator Innovate Block Construction).
Previously, Hyundai Elevator completed quality inspection for the application of ENOBLOC at the 27-story building of the Songdo Hillstate Centerpark apartment complex project (Incheon, South Korea). This solution is deployed for buildings over 20 floors, aiming for widespread application in the high-rise building segment.
“ENOBLOC is a groundbreaking system that minimizes risks, enhances efficiency, and reduces environmental impact, while potentially changing the way we build and develop,” said Mr. Cho Jae-cheon, CEO of Hyundai Elevator.

With ENOBLOC, components are prefabricated at the factory and transported to the site for assembly. The system operates like a “factory on-site,” occupying less than 33 m² of space, enabling lean construction organization and better control.
A notable point is the enhanced safety factor. While traditional construction methods often involve numerous high-risk steps, ENOBLOC allows up to 90% of key components to be prefabricated at the factory, thereby significantly reducing dangerous on-site operations and focusing on final assembly.
Additionally, the system shortens elevator installation time by up to 80%, contributing to optimized overall schedules, reduced construction costs, and enabling earlier project commissioning.
Actual implementation shows that partial application of the ENOBLOC solution helped shorten the construction schedule of the Songdo Hillstate Centerpark project by approximately 40 days. According to Hyundai Elevator, when fully deployed, this system can reduce construction time by more than two months.
Currently, Hyundai Elevator has filed about 50 patent applications related to the modular elevator system, application for high-rise buildings, and mass production technology. In the coming period, the company aims to expand its technology protection scope to the United States, the Middle East, and South Korea.
