Designing Spaces in the New Experience Era

VNIA | DESIGN&BUILD is a series of networking and industry connection events organized by the Vietnam Furniture Association (VNIA). The program aims to connect the architecture, interior design, construction, real estate, and creative industries communities in Vietnam.

Following the theme of office and educational spaces from the first season, VNIA | DESIGN&BUILD #02 focuses on commercial, retail, entertainment, and culinary spaces in a context where experience is increasingly becoming the decisive factor in a building's appeal.

Today's commercial spaces are no longer just about meeting operational requirements or displaying products. Lighting, materials, technology, sound, traffic flow, and brand storytelling are being combined to create "experience destinations," where users can form emotional connections with the space.

The event is expected to include professional training activities, panel discussions, product and solution exhibitions, multi-dimensional dialogues, and a business networking program.

The event will take place over two days, August 22 and 23, at the MComplex Convention Hall, Vincom Royal City, Hanoi, featuring thematic panel discussions, exhibition spaces, and multi-dimensional networking activities with participating parties such as designers, investors, businesses, operators, and leading industry experts, thereby sharing trends, solutions, and practical perspectives on living and working spaces in the new context.

Bringing Art into Elevator Spaces

One of the notable highlights for the architecture community and the elevator industry is the panel discussion "The application of art," taking place from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

Panel Discussion: “Applied Art in Elevators”

Time: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM, Saturday, August 22, 2026.

Venue: MComplex Hall, Vincom Royal City, Nguyen Trai, Hanoi.

At the program, Speaker Hoang Xuan Truong - Representative of the Training Board of the Vietnam Elevator Association and Company LAPASS - an entity operating in the field of creativity and applied arts - will present and discuss bringing art into elevator spaces.

Through this, the elevator is recognized as an important transitional space, contributing to creating a seamless experience and enhancing the identity of the building in the new experience era.

This topic continues the approach previously introduced by VNEA at the Vietnam Elevator Expo 2026, when an elevator design incorporating lacquer art was first introduced to the public. Meanwhile, LAPASS approaches the elevator as a dynamic space where users can appreciate artistic materials.

Including the elevator theme in VNIA | DESIGN&BUILD #02 also expands the scope of discussion at the event, from designing functional spaces to the touchpoints often considered purely technical in a building. This is an opportunity for architects, designers, investors, operators, and elevator companies to jointly explore new approaches that harmonize functionality, experience, and aesthetic value.
