TCTM - After reporting on the residents' forum about a young man showing signs of harassing women in the elevator of the CT5-DN2 apartment building (Hanoi), Ms. Nguyen T.H stated that she was intercepted and assaulted by the young man's relatives. The incident is being reported to the authorities for clarification.

According to residents' reports, Ms. Nguyen T.H, living in the CT5-DN2 apartment building (Tran Huu Duc Street, Hanoi), recently discovered a young man frequently exhibiting what were considered abnormal behaviors while using the elevator. Concerned about the potential risk to residents' safety, especially women and children, Ms. T.H posted a warning message in the building's resident group and requested the building management to take note and monitor the situation.

According to footage extracted from the elevator's security camera, the incident occurred on January 6, 2026. At that time, an elderly woman and the aforementioned young man entered the elevator together. Subsequently, the young man engaged in inappropriate and abnormal behavior towards the woman.

Ms. H. also stated that this individual had come to her apartment multiple times, rang the doorbell, and engaged in improper conduct.

Specifically, according to security camera footage at the CT5-DN2 apartment building, on January 8, 2026, a man approached and blocked Ms. T.H to ask why she had posted information related to his nephew. Immediately after, a woman came out from an apartment, argued loudly, and made a motion with her hand towards Ms. T.H's face area, then continuously grabbed her hair and pulled forcefully.

The clip also recorded another person standing at the door, holding and pushing the door to prevent Ms. T.H's family members from coming out to intervene.

Previously, in July 2025, Ms. T.H also had a conflict with this household. According to her account, when she returned home from work and opened her door, shoes and sandals from the neighboring apartment were scattered messily in the hallway, making it difficult to open the door. When she used her foot to push them aside, the neighbors, after reviewing their camera footage, came over to shout insults, bang on her door, and attempted to force their way in. However, because the door lock was broken, the group could not enter, and the incident stopped there.

The series of incidents has caused many residents at the CT5-DN2 apartment building to express concerns about the security and order situation in the building, while also raising the demand to clarify the responsibilities of relevant parties in ensuring resident safety and handling conflicts that arise within the community.

Speaking to reporters on the morning of January 9, 2026, Ms. Nguyen T.H said she had to be hospitalized due to being repeatedly struck in the head and is currently awaiting the doctor's examination results, suspected of having a concussion.

Currently, Ms. Nguyen T.H is also in the process of preparing a report and completing procedures to file a complaint with the authorities for verification and clarification of the incident in accordance with legal regulations.

Previously, public opinion has noted many violent incidents occurring in apartment buildings, which have been strictly handled by the authorities. Most recently, on January 7, 2026, the Hanoi City District 2 People's Court sentenced defendant Dang Chi Thanh (31 years old) to 6 months in prison for the crime of "Causing public disorder" due to his acts of assault and causing disorder in the elevator lobby of the Sky Central apartment building (176 Dinh Cong, Hanoi) in August 2025, while also ordering him to compensate the victim over 50 million VND.
