1. National Assembly passes Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Customs Law
Recently, the National Assembly passed the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Customs Law 2026 (Law No. 11/2026/QH16) at the First Extraordinary Session of the 16th National Assembly.
The Law takes effect from March 1, 2027.
Through the amended contents, it can be seen that customs management is strongly shifting toward digitalization – compliance management – risk management – data connectivity, while also adding regulations for e-commerce.
2. Renamed enterprises may continue using labels and packaging printed with the old name for 12 months
On August 25, 2026, the Government issued Resolution No. 39/2026/NQ-CP on the transitional mechanism for using labels and packaging of goods printed with the old name when an enterprise changes its name but does not change its legal entity or the entity responsible for the goods.
This is a very practical regulation, helping enterprises avoid having to destroy or immediately replace a large amount of labels and packaging still in stock after a name change.

1. Donati acquires Elevator Commerce, continuing consolidation of the European components market
Recently, Italian elevator components company Donati acquired Elevator Commerce, expanding operations into Spain. After the deal, the company is expected to achieve consolidated revenue of nearly 100 million euros in 2026, with a portfolio of more than 60,000 products and a network of over 3,500 customers.
2. US forecasts 6% increase in demand for elevator and escalator technicians through 2035
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasts that the number of workers installing and repairing elevators and escalators will increase from about 24,700 in 2025 to 26,100 in 2035, equivalent to 6%. On average, about 1,900 positions are expected to be recruited each year; the median salary for this occupation group was USD 109,910 in May 2025.
BLS believes that demand for maintenance, modernization of old equipment, and handling increasingly complex control systems will continue to support employment. The data combines elevators, escalators, and moving walkways, and cannot separately identify escalator manpower.
3. Shanghai seizes 56 elevator control panels and displays infringing trademarks
The Shanghai market regulatory authority determined that Shanghai Chitai Elevator Parts had traded 56 floor call panels and car display panels infringing trademark rights. All related goods were confiscated; the enterprise was fined 15,000 yuan.
4. Failing to perform maintenance but still creating records, Chinese enterprise fined
Shanghai Alpha Elevator (China) was determined to have maintenance records inconsistent with reality, employees did not come to work, and the enterprise arbitrarily reallocated maintenance work without approval from the using unit. The combined fine was 90,000 yuan, along with a warning.
