Da Nang: Patients Successfully Rescued from Elevator Entrapment at Midnight

According to information from the Da Nang City Police, at around 00:48 on December 21, 2025, the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Force (PCCC & CNCH) of Da Nang City Police received a report about people being trapped in an elevator at Quang Nam General Hospital (Tam Ky Ward, Da Nang City).

The incident occurred late at night when the hospital had many inpatients undergoing treatment, posing potential risks to the health and psychology of the trapped individuals.

Immediately after receiving the information, with a spirit of urgency, responsibility, and service to the people, the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department dispatched 1 rescue vehicle along with 8 officers and soldiers from the Rescue Team (Ban Thach team) to quickly arrive at the scene to carry out the mission.

The force identified 3 people trapped in the elevator cabin, including 2 patients and 1 medical staff member. Due to the enclosed space and prolonged entrapment time, the victims showed signs of anxiety and panic.

At the scene, PCCC & CNCH officers and soldiers urgently implemented a rescue plan ensuring safety, simultaneously reassuring the victims and using specialized equipment to access and open the elevator doors according to technical procedures.

By around 00:55 on the same day, the rescue force successfully rescued the 3 victims, bringing them out safely with stable health conditions.
