Bac Ninh: Rescuing 21 people trapped in an elevator

According to information from Bac Ninh Provincial Police, at around 08:30 AM on December 22, 2025, the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police successfully rescued 21 people trapped in an elevator at the DANKO project office building, located at No. 76, Tran Quang Khai Street, Bac Giang Ward, Bac Ninh City.

Preliminary information indicates that the elevator was in operation when it suddenly encountered a technical issue, stopping abruptly between the 1st and 2nd floors of the building, causing panic among those inside. Upon receiving the report, the rescue force quickly dispatched officers, soldiers, and specialized vehicles to the scene.

At the scene, the functional forces reassured the victims and simultaneously deployed a team using hydraulic spreaders to open the elevator doors. After about 5 minutes of rescue operations, all 21 trapped individuals were brought out safely.

When encountering an elevator incident, people should remain calm, not attempt to pry open the doors or climb out on their own, and should quickly contact a professional elevator unit or rescue forces. Elevator entrapment is an incident that can arise from various causes related to internal technical issues of the elevator or from objective causes due to human or object impact.

Therefore, owners/management boards also need to pay attention to strictly complying with relevant regulations to ensure elevator safety.
