EM – A short-term (under 300 hours) elevator technician training program, co-organized by the Vietnam Elevator Association and the Korean Lift College, will launch its first course at College of High Technology in August 2024. This marks the beginning of opportunities for young people to formalize their passion for the elevator industry.
With the goal of enhancing the quality of the elevator labor, following collaborative training programs between the Association, schools, and enterprises for employees at member companies of the Vietnam Elevator Association (VNEA). This is the first time the Vietnam Institute of Lift Engineering Application, under VNEA, is widely recruiting those interested in becoming elevator maintenance technicians.
The elevator maintenance training program is a collaboration between the Elevator Application Engineering Institute (VILEA), Korea Lift College (KLC), and Hanoi Vocational College of High Technology (HHT).
1. General Information
-Course Name: Elevator Maintenance Technician Training Program
– Course Content: Based on the curriculum exclusively transferred by KLC to VNEA
– Certification: International certificate issued by the three parties: VILEA, KLC, and HHT
– Start Date: November 2024
– Training Duration: 3 months
– Target Audience:
+ Individuals with at least 6 months of experience in elevator maintenance
+ Students from Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics departments of universities and colleges (with at least 1 year of study)
+ High school graduates (longer training duration applies)
– Training Location: Elevator Training Center at Hanoi Vocational College of High Technology
– Start Date: November 2024
The training program is one of the collaborative efforts between the Vietnam Elevator Association and Korea Lift College the Vietnam Elevator Association and Korea Elevator College.

With a network of partner companies affiliated with the Vietnam Elevator Association, students witness, learn, and gain valuable on-site experience through on-the-job training at sites with elevator installations. Additionally, students may receive financial support for tuition from these companies and be hired directly after completing the program.
High-skill labor export opportunities, facilitated by the Vietnam Elevator Association in collaboration with international organizations and companies, are also prioritized for students participating in the course.
– Online Certificate Verification System: After graduation, students receive certificates recognized nationally and internationally. Moreover, all student records are integrated and stored on the Association’s website, allowing companies and employers in the elevator industry to easily verify and access training documentation for each graduate.

-Salary Levels: While elevator technicians are among the high-income jobs in the U.S., Singapore has developed a clear responsibility and benefits scheme based on a progressive salary model to attract and retain technical personnel in the elevator industry. In Vietnam, as the elevator workforce becomes more standardized, those with formal training are likely to see improved income compared to the current level.

3. Content of the Training Program
With nearly 300 hours of hands-on professional training at the Elevator Training Center, students receive a customized curriculum tailored to their individual skill levels. The program consists of two main components: foundation courses and elevator technical training.
For students who already possess basic technical knowledge and workplace safety skills—such as those who have completed part of their studies at universities, colleges, or vocational schools, or individuals with practical work experience—the training program is designed to optimize learning time and includes the following content:

Previously, the Institute of Lift Engineering Application training program was implemented for students from member companies of the Vietnam Elevator Association. This is the first course to open wide enrollment and is delivered based on a training program exclusively sourced from Korea Lift College, a leading institution for elevator technical training around the world
