1. Ministry of Home Affairs Submits 2027 Lunar New Year Holiday Plan to Government
The Ministry of Home Affairs has submitted to the Government a plan for the 2027 Lunar New Year (Year of the Goat) holiday for officials, civil servants, and public employees.
Accordingly, the holiday is expected to last 7 consecutive days, from February 4, 2027 (the 28th day of the twelfth lunar month of the Year of the Horse) through Wednesday, February 10, 2027 (the 5th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Goat).
For employees in the business sector who are not civil servants or public employees, based on actual conditions, employers may choose an appropriate Tet holiday plan, ensuring a full 5 days as stipulated.
Specifically, businesses may choose to take 1 day off at the end of the Year of the Horse and 4 days at the beginning of the Year of the Goat, or 2 days at the end of the Year of the Horse and 3 days at the beginning of the Year of the Goat.
The Ministry of Home Affairs also requested that employers notify employees of the Lunar New Year holiday plan at least 30 days before implementation.

1. India: Worker Found Dead in Elevator Shaft at Construction Site
A 34-year-old worker was found dead in the elevator shaft of a building under construction in Sector 93, Gurugram.
Initial information suggests the victim may have fallen from the fifth floor, but police are still verifying the sequence of events and awaiting autopsy results. The victim's family has requested an investigation into signs of negligence by the developer.
Authorities are inspecting the measures used to cover the elevator shaft and other hazardous areas at the construction site.
2. Hyundai Elevator Launches 2026 Corporate Social Responsibility Program
Hyundai Elevator organized the "Share Life 2026" program at its Seoul office and Smart Campus in Chungju.
Fifty-six employees participated in blood donation; 83 people donated blood donation certificates and made Hickman catheter protection bags for children undergoing cancer treatment. The products were delivered to the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation. The company aims for its executives and employees to complete a total of 4,200 hours of community service activities in 2026.
