Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou works with the delegation of the Vietnam Elevator Association

During a working trip to China on May 19, 2026, Mr. Nguyen Hai Duc – Chairman of the Vietnam Elevator Association held a meeting with Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung - Consul General of Vietnam in Guangzhou to discuss orientations for strengthening business connections, promoting trade and technology cooperation, and expanding international cooperation opportunities for the Vietnamese elevator industry.

Responding to proposals from the Vietnam Elevator Association, Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung – Consul General of Vietnam in Guangzhou expressed his interest and readiness to accompany and support the Vietnam Elevator Association and the Vietnamese business community in connecting and cooperating with reputable enterprises in China.

This collaboration is expected to contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of external affairs, promoting trade and technology cooperation, and expanding development opportunities for the Vietnamese elevator industry in the context of international integration.

Additionally, at the invitation of the Organizing Committee of the International Elevator and Escalator Exhibition – WEE Expo 2026, Mr. Nguyen Hai Duc – Chairman of the Vietnam Elevator Association and Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien – General Secretary of the Vietnam Elevator Association attended the Opening Ceremony and specialized seminar of WEE Expo 2026, held on the morning of May 20, 2026, in Guangzhou.

Within the framework of the working trip, the Vietnam Elevator Association also held meetings and exchanges with several international partners and organizations such as the Korea Elevator Safety Agency (KoELSA), the Asia-Pacific Elevators and Escalators Association (PALEA), and the European Federation of Small and Medium-Sized Elevator Enterprises (EFESME). These activities contribute to strengthening the connection between the Vietnamese elevator industry and the network of specialized associations and organizations in the region and the world.

At the specialized seminar of WEE Expo 2026, Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien presented an overview of the Vietnamese elevator market, the system of policies and legal regulations related to the elevator sector, as well as the connecting role of the Association in promoting the industry's development.

According to the presentation, the Vietnamese elevator market currently has approximately 480,000 elevators in operation, with a growth scale of about 50,000 – 60,000 new elevators each year, including the demand for replacing old elevators. The representative of the Vietnam Elevator Association assessed that, along with the urbanization process and development goals towards 2045, the scale of the Vietnamese elevator market still has significant room for growth in the coming period.

At the same time, the General Secretary of the Elevator Association also emphasized Vietnam's relatively open investment and commercial environment for foreign enterprises in the elevator field.

From a policy perspective, Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien introduced the regulatory system related to elevators in Vietnam, including the system of national standards and technical regulations (TCVN/QCVN); regulations on national occupational skills; and management requirements for high-risk products such as elevators.

Alongside the market and policy landscape, Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien also shared highlights of the Vietnam Elevator Association's recent activities. These include efforts to promote technical training, raise awareness about elevator safety, connect domestic enterprises with international partners, promote trade, and progressively build an ecosystem supporting the Vietnamese elevator industry's development towards greater professionalism.

Through the working trip to China and participation in WEE Expo 2026, the Vietnam Elevator Association continues to affirm its role as a bridge between domestic enterprises and the international market, while expanding the space for cooperation in technology, standards, training, and safety in the elevator and escalator field.
