The Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department - Hanoi City Police coordinated with the Vietnam Elevator Association to organize a training class on elevator incident handling, rescue and first aid skills.
On August 13, 2026, at the Elevator Training Center of the Institute of Applied Elevator Engineering (under the Vietnam Elevator Association - VNEA), training on elevator incident handling, rescue and first aid skills was conducted for 72 commanding officers at the team level from units under the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PC07) across Hanoi City.
The training program was implemented by the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department - Hanoi City Police in coordination with the Vietnam Elevator Association and Hanoi College of High Technology, aiming to enhance the capacity to respond to and handle incidents and accidents related to elevator systems.

The training class was attended by 72 commanding officers at the team level, including team leaders and deputy team leaders from 41 regional Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police teams across Hanoi City. These are the forces directly responsible for organizing training and directing fire fighting, rescue and first aid operations when incidents or accidents occur in their assigned areas.
The representative of the training class was Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh - Team Leader of Regional Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Team No. 7, Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department, Hanoi City Police.
On the side of the Vietnam Elevator Association were Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien, Secretary General of the Association, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, technical expert of the Institute of Applied Elevator Engineering. Representing Hanoi College of High Technology were Dr. Le Danh Quang and Dr. Nguyen Yen Thang, Vice Principal of the school.

Speaking at the training session, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh, representative of the training class, stated that the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Hanoi City Police currently has nearly 1,700 officers and soldiers, deployed across 41 team-level units and 60 standing fire fighting, rescue and first aid positions throughout the city.
With a wide geographical area, the force must constantly be ready to receive and handle various types of incidents and accidents. According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh, practical training for certain types of incidents with special technical requirements, including elevator incidents, still has certain limitations.
"The fact that the Vietnam Elevator Association and Hanoi College of High Technology coordinated with PC07 to organize this training program is of great significance. This is an opportunity for commanding officers to acquire more professional knowledge about elevators, thereby deploying further training for officers and soldiers at each unit," shared Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh.

Through the training session, the soldiers of the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department - Hanoi City Police were provided with general knowledge about elevators and how the equipment operates; identifying common situations during rescue and first aid operations; analyzing causes and exchanging handling and remedial plans.
The training activity aims to help commanding officers gain a stronger professional foundation to assess situations, organize forces, and select appropriate handling plans, ensuring safety for elevator users, officers performing rescue and first aid duties, as well as related vehicles and property.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien, Secretary General of the Vietnam Elevator Association
Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien, Secretary General of the Vietnam Elevator Association, stated that this is an opportunity for experts in the elevator industry to directly share knowledge with the commanding officers of the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police force of Hanoi City Police.
According to Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien, programs involving coordination between functional forces, specialized units, and training institutions bring practical value. Each party can leverage its own capabilities and experience, working together toward the goal of improving task performance effectiveness and ensuring safety for the people, including rescue and first aid operations related to elevators.
"Through the program, functional forces gain access to specialized knowledge; specialized units have the opportunity to exchange technical characteristics, operating principles, and potential situations. This coordination aims toward the common goal of improving rescue and first aid effectiveness and ensuring safety for the people," emphasized Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien.

Evaluating the program afterward, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh stated that the trainees were provided with and exchanged technical information and elevator operational methods by experts from the Vietnam Elevator Association - content that the force previously primarily self-studied and researched.
"The program helped us gain comprehensive knowledge and better understand common situations during elevator rescue and first aid operations, the causes of incidents, and handling and remedial plans. The highest goal is to ensure safety for users and rescue forces, while also minimizing damage to the vehicles and property of investors," shared Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh, after the training program, the commanding officers will continue to disseminate knowledge and skills to all officers and soldiers at each unit under PC07, thereby enhancing readiness to respond and promptly meet rescue and first aid requirements related to elevators, ensuring the safety of people, vehicles, and property during task performance.
With 72 trainees being commanding officers from 41 regional Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police units under the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department, the program is expected to create a ripple effect as knowledge and skills continue to be transferred to nearly 1,700 officers and soldiers at 60 standing positions across the city. The activity also contributes to strengthening coordination between functional forces, the Vietnam Elevator Association, and training institutions, aiming to enhance the capacity to handle elevator incidents promptly, technically correctly, and safely.
