Vietnam Institute of Lift Engineering Application was established

On December 14^th, 2021, the Institute of Lift Engineering Application was officially established, under the Vietnam Elevator Association, based on the Operation Registration Certificate issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology. In the context of the complicated outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Elevator Association held the Institute's establishment ceremony online, with the participation of leaders of agencies, departments and training units: Department of Occupational Safety, Department of Occupational Skills - Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Hanoi Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, University of Civil Engineering, University of Architecture, Hanoi Vocational College of High Technology,…

The Institute of Lift Engineering Application operates with the main functions: research and development of science and technology; research and development of standards and training in Vietnam's elevator industry.

The establishment ceremony of The Institute of Lift Engineering Application took place on December 14^th, 2021

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ha Tat Thang - Director of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs said: “From the very beginning, we support and appreciate the practical significance of the establishment of the Institute of Lift Engineering Application. In the coming time, certainly, there will effective coordination between the Elevator Association, the Department of Occupational Safety and we are ready to create favorable conditions for the Institute to develop and ensure the safety of people."

The establishment of The Institute of Lift Engineering Application will solve the inadequacies in the current situation of Vietnam's elevator industry.

Firstly, research and application of technology plays an extremely important role. This is considered a direct driving force to create added value for the domestic elevator manufacturing industry. The development of supporting elevator technology and industry will create a variety of from within the country, reduce import turnover, increase the localization rate of intellectual content in the product.

Secondly, in the present, there is no organization that trains human resources for the elevator industry. Enterprises still operate with "Every man for himself" principle, leading to fragmented, small production, lack of synchronization and mutual support. Therefore, the unification of a vocational training standard, which is both professional and technical training, and career orientation, is an urgent and long-term strategic task, not only for the elevator manufacturing industry but also important for the processing and manufacturing industry.

Thirdly, improving technical standards in the domestic elevator production process, thereby improving product quality. The regulations and standards of domestic elevator products, once approaching the standards in strict markets such as the US and Europe, Vietnamese products will dominate the Vietnamese market. Besides, the "green" factor of sustainable development also needs our attention and has gradually been becoming one of the mandatory criteria. Domestic products must ensure to "win at home" before aiming to reach the competitive edge in the world.

 

The current situation of manual elevator components production poses a problem about the application of elevator engineering technology

“Like the principle of digging a well, in order to dig deep, it is necessary to have a large enough foundation. There is no excellent player in a losing team. From the perspective of a professional, I am concerned about perfecting the ecosystem and promoting the Vietnamese elevator industry to reach the international level. And we appreciate the support from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs for the establishment of the Vietnam Elevator Association, from the Ministry of Information & Communications for the establishment of the Elevator Magazine recently, until now, for the establishment of Vietnam Institute of Lift Engineering Application from the Ministry of Science and Technology.” – Mr. Nguyen Hai Duc, Chairman of Vietnam Elevator Association expressed.
