DOMESTIC NEWS

1. Approval of the Scheme for Modernizing the Banking System, Handling Weak Credit Institutions, and Unlocking Capital Flows for Enterprises

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang has signed Decision No. 1809/QD-TTg dated September 18, 2026 approving the Scheme "Continuing to Modernize the Banking System, Handling Weak Credit Institutions, and Enhancing Access to Capital for Enterprises, Especially Small and Medium-sized Enterprises."

The Scheme will implement 4 main groups of tasks and solutions, including: General tasks and solutions; Tasks and solutions for modernizing the banking system; Tasks and solutions for handling weak credit institutions; Tasks and solutions for enhancing access to capital for enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises. Specifically:

First, the group of general orientations and solutions, comprising 4 solutions: (i) Improving mechanisms and policies to promote the modernization of the banking system, handling weak credit institutions, and enhancing access to capital for enterprises; (ii) Developing and upgrading information technology infrastructure and information systems in core areas; (iii) Training and improving the quality of human resources in the Banking sector; (iv) Strengthening policy communication and international cooperation in the monetary and banking sector.

Second, the group of orientations and solutions for modernizing the banking system, comprising 4 solutions: (i) Modernizing the management of monetary and foreign exchange policy; (ii) Modernizing payment systems and reforming the management and supervision of payment systems; (iii) Modernizing and strengthening the effectiveness and efficiency of banking inspection and supervision; (iv) Modernizing the operations of credit institutions.

Third, the group of orientations and solutions for handling weak credit institutions: comprising 4 direct tasks and solutions and supporting solutions for the State Bank of Vietnam and credit institutions.

Fourth, the group of orientations and solutions for enhancing access to credit capital for enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, comprising 10 tasks and solutions.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

1. Easy Living Acquires Home Elevator Brand DomusLift

Easy Living Home Elevators of Australia has announced the acquisition of DomusLift, a home elevator brand developed by Giuseppe Volpe and Carlo Berletti in Italy since 1998.

According to information provided by the company, DomusLift is currently present in 70 countries and has been installed in more than 60,000 homes.

Following the deal, the brand has been repositioned with two collections, DomusLift Heritage and DomusLift Signature, adding finish options, technical solutions, safety technology, and installation adaptability. 

2. France: Technician Falls into Elevator Shaft During Maintenance

A 26-year-old technician fell from a height of 5-6 m into an elevator shaft in Mantes-la-Ville at around 08:30 while performing maintenance.

The victim was transported to Percy Military Hospital in an emergency; at the time of transport, their life was not considered to be in danger.

3. China Plans to Upgrade and Add 575,000 Elevators in Residential Areas

China's Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development has announced that during the 15th Five-Year Plan, covering the period 2026-2030, the country plans to begin renovation of approximately 115,000 old urban residential communities, while upgrading or adding 575,000 elevators in residential buildings.

This scale is significantly higher than the results of the 14th Five-Year Plan, when approximately 130,000 elevators were added and 167,000 old elevators were upgraded. The program could generate substantial demand for equipment, components, installation, inspection, and maintenance.
