EM – On the morning of October 29, 2022, the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding on training cooperation between Hanoi High-Tech Vocational College, Skills Consulting Group and International Vocational Training Joint Stock Company on the establishment of Vietnam - New Zealand Training Cooperation Center took place in Hanoi. This event opens up opportunities for deep and wide cooperation in specialized technical training in the elevator and escalator industry.
EM – From October 23-29, 2022, at the proposal and invitation of the Vietnam Elevator Association, representatives of the Department of Occupational Safety, General Department of Vocational Education - Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Department of Non-Governmental Organizations - Ministry of Home Affairs and Vietnam Elevator Association (VNEA) led by Mr. Ha Tat Thang, Director of the Department of Occupational Safety had a working trip to Korea. The purpose of the business trip is to exchange experiences on occupational safety and vocational training in the field of elevators in Korea. Chairman of Vietnam Elevator Association Nguyen Hai Duc and some members of VNEA joined the delegation.
EM – The elevator counterweight has a shell made of recycled plastic, inside containing concrete, after a period of use, it has cracked, potentially causing unsafety for the elevator. That is because there are no requirements for materials and manufacturing specifications of the above equipment. This raises the question whether we should review, consider to add technical regulations, improve the safety factor for the elevator or not?
EM – Fire prevention and rescue police (Firefighting and Rescue) had to use specialized hydraulic tools to open the elevator doors to rescue two people trapped inside. This is the second case of people trapped in the elevator in less than a month.
EM - Elevators belong to the list of potentially unsafe goods (group 2) of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. This raises the urgency of promulgating the National Occupational Skills Standards for the elevator industry as soon as possible. This policy has been approved by the authorities.
EM – 10 construction workers at HH1A building, FLC Dai Mo apartment complex were stuck in the elevator. Fire Prevention and Rescue forces promptly rescued the victims to safety.
