Coordinate the development of training industry codes, promote cooperation in training, issue elevator technical certificates, build an open data warehouse about trained and certified elevator technicians for consumers to use, businesses can look up, create jobs at home and abroad for graduates… Those are the activities of the Vietnam Elevator Association (VNEA) towards the goal of improving the quality of human resources in elevator industry
One of the fields of activity of the Vietnam Elevator Association is to organize training, vocational training, promotion and improvement of quality, safety and technical standards for elevators and escalators in Vietnam. Immediately after its establishment, the Association cooperated with a number of vocational training institutions throughout the country to develop and standardize the elevator technical training program, provide specialized practice infrastructure, provide experts teaching techniques towards the purpose of improving the quality of human resources in the elevator industry.
Realizing the goal of promoting training and cooperation in training human resources in the elevator industry, on December 14th, 2021, Vietnam Institute of Lift Elevator Application under the Vietnam Elevator Association was officially established. The Institute operates with the main functions of scientific and technological research and development; research and development of standards and labor training in Vietnam’s elevator industry. Along with that, VNEA has cooperated with Gama Service – GamaLift’s high-class elevator technical service unit and Hanoi High-Tech Vocational College (HHT) to establish a training center for elevator engineering.
Within the framework of training cooperation, VNEA has just had a meeting with a representative of Hanoi High-Tech Vocational College (HHT). The delegates discussed training directions, developing a framework training program, and designing training programs.
Nguyen Hai Duc, Chairman of VNEA, shared that the Association is actively coordinating with HHT, urgently preparing all necessary conditions according to regulations on opening the elevator training industry, and soon submitting it to the General Department of Vocational Education and Training for approval to open the elevator engineering industry code. If the industry code is approved soon, along with extensive cooperation with the Vietnam Elevator Association, right this year, HHT will enroll the first formal elevator technical training course in the country.
Also in the work program, the draft framework program for training elevator personnel was discussed. The draft program consists of two parts: The basic part includes basic knowledge of electricity, mechanics, control…, the intensive part will coordinate with experts of elevator manufacturers to build a curriculum of subjects specialized in motors, electricity, control systems of elevators… The goal of the cooperation is to accelerate the completion of the conditions for opening technical training courses in the elevator industry at different levels. In which, completing the training framework program as soon as possible, preparing the infrastructure for trainees to practice, building a bank of specialized exam questions, etc. Students will receive intensive instruction and practice operations. on installation, operation, maintenance, upgrading and repair of elevators…, granted national and international circulation certificates…
VNEA President also emphasized, VNEA is always pioneering and making efforts in training cooperation with many training institutions across the country, including HHT. The first course to open the cooperation between the Association and HHT is expected to open right at the end of March 2022. The VNEA President believes that, with the extensive and substantial cooperation between VNEA and training institutions across the country, many skilled, conscientious and qualified elevator technicians and engineers will be provided not only for domestic elevator businesses but also have the opportunity to work at many foreign elevator companies, creating many jobs and earning foreign currency for the country. This is also the mission, demonstrating VNEA’s role in connecting and supporting the development of the elevator industry in Vietnam in the coming time.
