EM – On March 27, 2024, the National Agency for Science and Technology Information under the Ministry of Science and Technology granted the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) to Elevator Magazine for both its print and electronic publications. This officially marks the “ID card” of Elevator Magazine in the global information community.
The International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) is a unique identification code assigned worldwide, for each serial publication, whether in print or electronic form. With the ISSN, the content of Elevator Magazine can be accurately and easily identified, contributing to the promotion of storage, utilization, delivery, publication, and exchange of information beyond national borders.
The International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) is indeed the “identity card” of a publication in the global information network. It is a mandatory requirement for a publication to be able to join the international system of serial publication data. The ISSN provides new publications with opportunities to enhance promotion, exchange information, introduce authors, and showcase research achievements to the world.
Since 2012, The State Council for Professorship has stipulated that only scientific articles published in journals with an ISSN are eligible for evaluation and scoring by professorship councils at all levels.
Following the evaluation process, the National Agency for Science and Technology Information under the Ministry of Science and Technology has issued International Standard Serial Numbers (ISSN) for Elevator Magazine’s print and electronic publications. Specifically, the ISSN for the print publication is ISSN 3030-4334, and the ISSN for the electronic publication is ISSN 3030-4377.
As the media agency of the Vietnam Elevator Association, the issuance of International Standard Serial Numbers (ISSN) for the publications of Elevator Magazine has contributed to the promotion of connectivity and the establishment of an in-depth scientific information network in the elevator industry, both domestically and internationally. It serves as a platform for researchers and experts to participate in discussions, provide feedback, and contribute to the development of legal documents and product standards, and the transfer of advanced elevator technology. This contributes to the development of the elevator and escalator sector in Vietnam in the modern era and creates opportunities for integration with the international market.
The content published in Elevator Magazine is invested in research, production, and editorial work with a high level of scientific knowledge
Elevator Magazine attracts contributions and involvement from leading elevator experts worldwide
The International Organization responsible for managing ISSN numbers is the International ISSN Centre. It is an intergovernmental organization established within the framework of the UNESCO/UNISIST program. The International ISSN Centre is responsible for coordinating the network of national and regional ISSN centers and coordinating the International Serials Data System (ISDS), which is the international database of serial publications. National ISSN centers are responsible for registering ISSN numbers for serial publications within their respective countries. Some countries may decide to jointly establish a regional ISSN center based on economic, geographical, or linguistic criteria.
Since March 11, 2005, Vietnam has officially been accepted as a member country of the international ISSN network by UNESCO. The National Agency for Science and Technology Information under the Ministry of Science and Technology has been designated as the National ISSN Centre of Vietnam.
