EM – Fire prevention and rescue police (Firefighting and Rescue) had to use specialized hydraulic tools to open the elevator doors to rescue two people trapped inside. This is the second case of people trapped in the elevator in less than a month.
Specifically, at about 1 a.m. on September 18, at a 7-storey building at 140 Le Duan (Thach Thang ward, Hai Chau district – Da Nang city) there was an elevator stuck accident, with two people inside.
Many people in the building tried everything to rescue but could not, so they called the police. The functional forces of Da Nang City mobilized officers, soldiers and special rescue vehicles to the scene to rescue the victims. After being trapped for more than an hour, rescuers brought a man and a woman out safely.

It is known that the house where the incident happened is 7 floors high and is rented to students and workers. The victims said that when the elevator was going up, it suddenly stopped, the door was locked, so they panicked. Friends tried to rescue them but couldn’t, so they called the authorities.
Earlier, Elevator Magazine reported that on August 29, 2022, the fire department successfully rescued a group of 9 employees who were trapped for about 45 minutes while riding an elevator at a 4-storey building in District 1. 5 – Ho Chi Minh City. Among the rescued people, 5 people were suffocated and taken to the hospital for medical check-ups.
The situation of elevators in public buildings constantly having problems is assessed by experts as unusual, requiring synchronous and effective solutions from authorities and management agencies.
