On June 24, 2002 in Hanoi, a conference and exhibition of European traction machine and elevator components took place. Attending were representatives of more than 50 commercial enterprises, manufacturing and trading elevators and interested people. Senior representatives of some brands such as Sicor, Ziehl- Aberg, Top Gear… were also present at the conference.
At the conference, European manufacturers and distributors of components and equipment together discussed solutions for cooperation and development, measures to encourage customers to distinguish genuine products and introduce them to customers new products, new technologies.
Elevator Magazine reporter discussed with representative of Sicor S.R.L
Answering the reporter of Elevator Magazine, Mr. Massimo Santambrogio, General Director of Sicor S.R.L Italia (Sicor Società a Responsabilità Limitata) said that Sicor S.R.L manufactures elevator equipment such as electrical cabinets, traction machines, traction cables…, Tractors alone produce about 40,000 products per year and export them worldwide. Vietnam market consumes about 1200 traction machines a year. The manufacturer hopes that in the future this number will grow strongly.
Cabin folding door products attract the attention of delegates
When asked if Sicor Italia plans to transfer technology and invest in manufacturing tractors and other components in Vietnam, General Director Massimo Santambrogio said that Sicor Italia will probably consider the issue. This is when the scale of the Vietnamese market develops large enough.
A representative of Sicor S.R.L also said that many “fake” products are being distributed, including in the Vietnamese market. This is why the manufacturer has introduced measures to advise customers to distinguish real Sicor traction machine from the fake one. Customers rely on the QR code on the product and other identifiers to check if the traction machine is authentic. Sicor S.R.L also claims to have registered a patent to protect the trademark.

Another interesting content at the conference, causing curiosity. It is a product of folding cabin doors and hinged deck doors. These products are manufactured in Turkey, very suitable for elevators for renovation works with limited area. Maybe, this will be the solution to apply in the narrow area home elevators that are quite common in Vietnam.
Conference participants also asked many questions to the speaker about methods of installation, operation, maintenance, repair… to improve safety and lifespan of elevator equipment./.
