EM – The Vietnam Elevator Association will officially announce Vietnam Lift Day on the morning of July 15, 2024, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Elevator Association.
Nearly 5 years ago, on July 16, 2019, the first meeting of the Organizing Committee for the Establishment of the Vietnam Elevator Association took place. Therefore, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Elevator Association has decided to choose this meaningful milestone as “Vietnam Lift Day”.
Through much effort and dedication, the fruition was that more than a year later, on August 20, 2020, the Vietnam Elevator Association was officially established by Decision No. 594/QD-BNV of the Ministry of Home Affairs. This is also an important milestone marking the unification and development journey of the elevator industry.
After a 5-year journey with the goal of promoting the development of the elevator industry, Mr. Nguyen Hai Duc – Chairman of the Vietnam Elevator Association, stated that although elevators are Group 2 commodities with the potential to endanger the health of users, and the elevator technology is a dangerous, hazardous, and complex profession, society and the community have not given proper attention to elevator technicians.
The elevator profession – the means of transportation with the highest productivity globally, with 325 million passenger trips per day on elevators, and it only takes 3 days for elevators to transport the entire world population. In addition, elevator technology is also the backbone profession that meets the traffic needs for the country’s urbanization process.
Therefore, Vietnam Lift Day will be an occasion to spread the message about the significance, role, and value of the elevator engineering profession, its influence and ability to contribute to society. This is also an occasion for those in the elevator profession to recognize the importance of professional ethics and skills in their mission to serve society. From there, a sense of pride and passion for the elevator profession will be formed.
“Vietnam Lift Day is also an occasion for society to honor and express gratitude to the unsung individuals who bring safety and convenience to our daily lift journeys. We aspire for a day that spreads the humanitarian spirit of our society: The spirit of serving the community – to be recognized and appreciated by society.” – Mr. Nguyen Hai Duc shared.
To realize these objectives, the Vietnam Elevator Association aims to organize a series of practical activities with the desire to both provide learning opportunities and hone professional skills, as well as certify the competence, ethics, and qualities of workers to enable their career advancement and increase their credibility with employers (business owners or lift owners).
This series of activities includes Developing and publishing work and human resource standards (Occupational Skill Standards, Labor Norms Standards, etc.); Lift technical training programs; Lift skills competitions; Technician certification exams; Connecting workers with domestic and international job opportunities, and more.
There is a similarity in the goal of focusing on people and the values, the beauty of the workers. The Vietnam Lift Day Announcement Ceremony will take place on the morning of July 15, 2024, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Elevator Association, within the framework of the 2024 World Youth Skills Day program.
The seminar is chaired by the Directorate of Vocational Education and representatives of associations, training institutions, enterprises and workers, and students are participating in the discussion.
With the spirit of “Improving the country through the strength of occupational skills”, the discussion is focusing on the current situation, orientations and solutions to promote the improvement of occupational skills for workers, and create conditions for education, training and employment opportunities for students and youth.
