Held from December 5 to December 7, 2024, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), the Vietnam Elevator Expo 2024 attracted over 100 enterprises from various countries including China, South Korea, Japan, Spain, India, and Australia.
As part of the Vietnam International Trade Fair Vietnam Expo, this specialized elevator exhibition is the largest and only one of its kind in Vietnam. It is organized collaboratively by the Vietnam Elevator Association (VNEA) and Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company VINEXAD, under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Trade Fair – Vietnam Expo 2024 was attended by prominent figures such as Mr. Vo Tan Thanh – Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI); Ms. Nguyen Van Nga – Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. To Ngoc Son – Deputy Director of the Asia-Africa Market Department; and Mr. Le Phu Cuong – Trade Counsellor of the Vietnam Trade Office in Malaysia.
Speaking at the Opening Ceremony of Vietnam Expo 2024, Mr. Nguyễn Hải Đức, Chairman of the Vietnam Elevator Association, emphasized that the purpose of organizing the exhibition is to create and sustain a “playground” for establishing an ecosystem within the elevator industry, consisting of capable and trustworthy members. After each exhibition concludes, the Organizing Committee continues to evaluate, support, and maintain connections with partners to ensure that businesses achieve lasting results from the exhibition event.
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the specialized elevator exhibition, Vietnam Elevator Expo 2024 was honored to welcome Mr. To Ngoc Son – Deputy Director of the Asia-Africa Market Department; Mr. Nguyen Hai Duc – President of the Vietnam Elevator Association; and Mr. Pham Quynh Giang – Vice President of VINEXAD.
International guests included Mr. Zhang Lexiang – Secretary General of the China Elevator Association; Mr. Ma Zhendong – General Manager of Langfang Conference and Exhibition Company; and Mr. Wang Xingqi – Representative of Mitsubishi sponsor, who also participated in the ribbon-cutting.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the delegation visited the booths of the participants at Vietnam Elevator Expo 2024, as well as the entire Vietnam Expo 2024.
On the opening day of the exhibition, the atmosphere at SECC was vibrant, with long lines of visitors registering at the information desk. According to the organizers, over 7,000 visitors, including experts, businesses, managers, and consumers from both domestic and international origins, attended on the first day.
The trade atmosphere at the booths during the three days of Vietnam Elevator Expo 2024 was lively and bustling. Each booth welcomed potential partners from both domestic and international markets. Participating enterprises praised the organization and networking opportunities at the event.
Throughout the exhibition, several specialized workshops were held, including a talk show titled “Elevators, Art and Architecture” and a workshop on “Keeping you safe everyday”, along with the introduction of the Elevator Industry Manufacturer Standard of the sector part 2. These events provided valuable insights into technology trends and facilitated discussions on new solutions to enhance the quality of products and services in the elevator industry.
Continuing the series of activities around Vietnam Elevator Expo 2024, a talk show “Elevators, Art, and Architecture” took place on the morning of December 6, 2024, featuring speakers such as Architect Nguyen Van Tat – Chairman of the Architecture Council of the Vietnam Association of Architects; Mr. Zhang Lexiang – Secretary General of the China Elevator Association; and experts from the Chinese Elevator Association Standards Committee.
Architect Nguyen Van Tat emphasized that elevators are like cars that operate regularly in homes, and since they represent a significant investment, it would be a waste if homeowners do not enhance the enjoyment and decor of their interior spaces, presenting them proudly rather than hiding them away.
He emphasized the importance of “customizing” elevators—designing them uniquely and personally to match the space and style of each home. “What is there to be proud of if it is not the uniqueness and distinctiveness of character?” he stated.
While Architect Nguyen Van Tat highlighted the aesthetics and personalization of elevators, Mr. Zhang Lexiang focused on technical and safety aspects. He argued that, alongside design, ensuring elevators comply with international standards is crucial. A harmonious combination of aesthetic and technical factors will create perfect elevators that meet all users’ needs.
To clarify issues related to current elevator standards, experts from the Standards Committee of the China Elevator Association presented on international technical standards for elevators and escalators issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as well as technical standards in China.
During the “Elevators, Art, and Architecture” talk show, the organizers of Vietnam Elevator Expo 2024 announced and honored the companies that received Elevator Awards. They also presented sponsorship certificates to Shanghai Mitsubishi.
The companies recognized in the Innovative Technology category – Innotech Awards included: Toshiba Elevator Vietnam Co., Ltd., Taco Elevator Co., Ltd., and Glarie Vietnam Co., Ltd.
The honored companies in the Impressive Booth category – Exhibition Awards included: Sang Nghiep Elevator Co., Ltd., Canny Elevator Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Co., Ltd.
On the afternoon of December 6, 2024, Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien – General Secretary of the Vietnam Elevator Association (VNEA) officially introduced the Elevator Industry Manufacturer Standard of the sector part 2 – TCCS 02:2024/VNEA – Labor Norms in Elevator Maintenance and Repair.
The TCCS 02:2024/VNEA standard focuses on workers in the elevator industry, including operators and maintenance staff in buildings or service units. This group plays a crucial role as a bridge between maintenance units and customers.
The main contents of TCCS 02:2024/VNEA include: Time norms, work norms, personnel quantity requirements, and personnel quality requirements (skill levels).
This standard serves as a guideline for service companies in hiring, salary structuring, and human resource management, as well as a tool to assist owners and management units in budgeting and supervision.
“TCCS 02:2024/VNEA not only lays the foundation for standardizing elevator services but also contributes to improving service quality – something that businesses, owners, and users all expect,” asserted Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien.
In the Elevator Edu program, representatives from Puretronics (India) also shared solutions regarding sensor technology in elevators to enhance safety.
With the goal of raising community awareness about elevator safety, the organizers of Vietnam Elevator Expo 2024 conducted a minigame called “Elevator Flow” on the morning of December 7. Through engaging quiz questions, the minigame helped participants gain a better understanding of elevator construction, operational principles, and safe usage. This activity attracted significant interest from many visitors.
Despite being the final day of the exhibition, Vietnam Elevator Expo 2024 remained lively. The booths were bustling as visitors continually explored products, technologies, and discussed collaboration opportunities. Many businesses reported that the exhibition helped them find potential partners while also opening market expansion opportunities in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
With the successes achieved, Vietnam Elevator Expo 2024 has confirmed its role as the most prestigious annual event in the elevator and escalator industry in Vietnam. The event not only created a platform for networking but also played a vital role in promoting technological innovation and expanding international cooperation.
Although the exhibition has concluded, the values brought by Vietnam Elevator Expo 2024 will continue to resonate, contributing to the advancement of the Vietnamese elevator industry in the future. Let’s look back at the emotional moments from Vietnam Elevator Expo 2024 and see you again at Vietnam Elevator Expo 2025!
