EM – Recently, in Hanoi, the seminar “3M and the Journey of Sustainable Elevator Manufacturing” took place in Hanoi. The seminar was organized by 3M Group with the companionship of Vietnam Elevator Association (VNEA) and media sponsorship of Elevator Magazine. Mr. Nguyen Hai Duc, Chairman of Vietnam Elevator Association, member of DAG Vietnam Consulting Group was the main speaker of the workshop.
More than 60 businesses attending the seminar paid attention to solutions for the sustainable development of the elevator industry.
In fact, the elevator market in Vietnam is very potential when there are about 250,000 elevators in operation with more than 300 businesses operating in this field. In the near future, from now to 2025, the elevator market is forecasted to grow over 13% per year, which is an opportunity for all businesses in the elevator sector.
Mr. Nguyen Hai Duc – VNEA President was the keynote speaker at the conference
Sharing at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Hai Duc – Chairman of Vietnam Elevator Association (VNEA), member of DAG Consulting Group Vietnam emphasized, the current trend consists of 3 factors.
First, trust is what attracts and retains customers and is also a measure of the brand value of a business. Especially in the context of the current situation of the elevator industry: products do not guarantee quality, incompetent workers, standards and implementation supervision (design, production, installation, maintenance, lifting level,…) limited – customer confidence has been seriously affected leading to the loss of the market right at home.
Second, it’s a matter of safety. When businesses compete on price, will customers benefit? It’s common sense, but blind price competition pushes elevator businesses to face many bad consequences. That is the situation where there is no cost to train, responsible human resources, have the right technical capacity and sustainable long-term development, service maintenance,… Every business will have its own strategies to differentiate themselves from the competition. That is the driving force for development.
Third, sustainability. This is a concept that is not too familiar to Vietnamese elevator companies, but it is an important goal of the globalization trend. Sustainability is not only the age of the business, but also the contribution of community and social values. Enterprises that want to develop sustainably must have a vision, core values, and standards for their products to become commercial standards and “barriers” of many regions around the world…
3M representatives introduce materials connection solutions
In this conference, 3M Vietnam also introduced and brought solutions that converge factors: Trust, Safety and Sustainability.
As an example, solutions analysts use products for the installation, repair, maintenance of elevators and supporting industries. These are labor protection equipment, accessories for specialized grinding equipment, adhesive tapes that can be used in the production and installation of elevators…
Accordingly, tempered tapes with bearing, heat, water and other harsh conditions will be used to replace common screws, nuts or welds. When using tape, in addition to ensuring technical standards, 3M tape also improves aesthetics, increases durability, significantly reduces construction time and costs… In which, the main types of tape are used in the construction of glass shaft, control panels, items in the elevator cabin…
3M products are being distributed in Vietnam market
3M solutions and products aim to help businesses and the elevator industry grow sustainably. That is to optimize production, protect the environment, protect the health of technical staff and elevator users…
With such an approach towards long-term community benefits, the sustainable development solutions of VNEA and 3M are very similar. A representative of 3M expressed his desire to accompany Vietnam’s elevator industry, bringing practical and sustainable solutions, promoting long-term development together.
